A social media platform for the intellectually curious.
Overview
Wander is a social media platform designed for effortless sharing and discussion of intellectual content. Users can manage content pipelines, meet interesting curators, and find and share interesting articles, blog posts, newsletters, videos, and podcasts.
My role
As a UI Designer, I collaborated with UX designers and software engineers to create high-fidelity Figma wireframes and prototypes.
Goal: Enhance existing user flows and launch new product features in two-week sprints.
Impact
Enhanced user experience: Implemented a uniform and visually compelling design structure that reduces user friction and enhances productivity.
Increased engagement: Developed intuitive navigation pathways with clear CTA buttons to guide users toward desired actions.
Brand awareness: Built product feature graphics and branded landing page to create a unified user journey across all touchpoints.
Landing page design
As the entry point into Wander’s platform, the landing page serves as the user’s first impression of the product and brand. The landing page communicates Wander’s value proposition clearly and concisely to drive new users to create an account.
Strategic goals driving design
Communicate value proposition: The top section, “What we stand for”, provides a concise overview of Wander’s differentiators
Capture user interest: Dynamic interface mockups provide a sneak peek of the seamless user experience and key affordances.
Convert users: The CTA button in the hero banner image clearly dictates the intended action: create an account.

Original Design Problems
The lack of visual hierarchy doesn’t guide the user to an intended action, resulting in user fall-off.

Reflections & Insights
Key Takeaways
Wander was founded and operated by a team of full-time undergraduate college students. For many of us, this was our first experience building a tech product outside of academic courses or internships.
While there are areas for improvement in our design prototypes and final execution, our work demonstrates a strong foundational understanding of key user interface design principles and aesthetics. I learned that an effective product is informed by research, testing, and a cohesive bond between front-end and back-end design structures.
